Rule Of Nine

Rule of Nine - well all we know rule of nine is applied in case of burns Here i would like to tell how to remeber the difference in rule of 9 in children and Adults Adults we know 1 Head and upper extremity eacch assigned 9 2 Each lower extremity assigned two 9 units 3 Trunk assigned 4 units of 9 each In Children The concept being Babies have Bigger heads and smaller legs thus - two 9 for head and both legs share 3 9's instead of 4

Gastrochisis - Cord is normal Defect is on right side of cord i.e is laterally No Protective membrane Omphalocele - as the name indicates Omphlao - Umblicus - Central defect with thin membrane underwhich you see normal bowel
