When do u plan thoracotomy in Haemothorax ?

Well we insert chest tube for haemothorax

When do u need to plan thoracotomy ??

- Evacuation of > 1500ml of immediately after chest tube insertion 
- Collecting drainage >1 l of Blood over 4 hrs i.e 250ml/hr
